The purpose of this article was to discuss the relationship between Motor Behavior and Physical Education. Apparently this relationship seems easy to be visualized because the object of study of Motor Behavior - motor learning, control and development - is something Physical Education acts upon professionally. However, as Physical Education still faces the problem of academic identity, this relationship can assume different characteristics depending on the way it is conceptualized - an academic or professional area of knowledge. Those characteristics and their implications were the focus of the article.
