Special issue: USING THE FRAMEWORK OF THE UNCONTROLLED MANIFOLD (UCM) TO UNDERSTAND MOTOR BEHAVIOR
OVERVIEW:
The Brazilian Journal of Motor Behavior (BJMB) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, APC-free journal published by the Brazilian Society of Motor Behavior (Sociedade Brasileira de Comportamento Motor - SOCIBRACOM). The BJMB accepts original contributions encompassing the multidisciplinary study of human movement throughout lifespan, involving a broad range of topics related to the field of Motor Behavior like motor control, development and learning, movement disorders, clinical, theoretical and model studies. Manuscripts are welcome from diverse disciplines such as kinesiology, biomechanics, neurophysiology, neuroscience, psychology, medicine, sports performance and rehabilitation.
TOPICS:
We are excited to announce a special issue celebrating the 25th anniversary of the seminal work by John Scholz and Gregor Schöner, published in Experimental Brain Research, which introduced the Uncontrolled Manifold (UCM) framework to the motor behavior scientific community. We invite researchers to submit manuscripts that utilize the UCM framework to enhance our understanding of motor behavior. We welcome submissions that explore how the central nervous system controls and coordinates motor elements to stabilize performance variables in any motor task. This special issue will be edited by Profs. Sandra Freitas and Paulo de Freitas, who are both delighted to extend this invitation to you. Your contribution would be a valuable addition to this commemorative collection.
